Those of you who have older kids might already know about these, because I think they’ve been around a while, but anyone with a two-year-old or a soon-to-be-two-year-old should take note of the wonder that is the Spill Proof Bubble Tumbler. At some point — and if they are not already — your child will become obsessed with bubbles, and soon after that they will figure out how to blow bubbles by themselves. However, they won’t be able to do this without spilling bubble solution all over your house. This is why you need one of these spill-proof bubble tumbler thingies. Though there are more expensive versions, I was able to get these bubble tumblers at Toys ‘R’ Us for $2.99 each, and I dressed them up a little bit to serve as the favors for Mini’s birthday party. Below is how I did this.

  1. Remove all fugly packaging and plastic wrap.

  2. Locate decorative paper with which to adorn bubble tumblers.

The inspiration for the party decorations was this invitation I bought by the Papyrus for Target line. I had some extra invitations so I took the envelopes and removed the lining to use it as decoration for the party favors. Because I don’t need to tell you that I’m all about being “green.” [Cough.]

  3. Cut lining into strips; run strips through Xyron machine; place on soap bottles
    strips of paper

I cut the lining into several strips of about 2 inches thick.

Then I ran the strips through my trusty Xyron machine, which makes any piece of paper into a sticker. (I know! I know!)

After you stick all the strips on the bubble bottles, you can move on to the tumbler, where I used a similar method to create oval paper cutouts to go into the tops of the handles.

  4. Adorn bubble tumblers with ribbon, etc.

Lastly, I added some ribbon to add some color to the bubble tumblers.

  5. Stand back and enjoy!
